Dear Fellow Graduates and Friends,
As 2010 unfolds, you should know that it is an exciting time for the Union Graduate College community. On January 13, 2010, more than 200 students, faculty and local leaders packed the Atrium of our new building to celebrate the "official opening" of The Graduate Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A press release and photograph from the event can be found in the "News & Events" section of the website.
Our vital work and mission at Union Graduate College continues in our new, three-story, 24,000 square foot, state-of-the-art campus at 80 Nott Terrace in downtown Schenectady. Located just one block from the Union College campus, our new The Graduate Center has truly become a "home" for our graduate students. They gather in the Atrium "living room" to meet with professors or fellow students; use the brand-new computer lab or register for classes – all in one convenient, student-centered building.
Every day, I talk with students who are studying, working and socializing together at The Graduate Center. It has provided our students and faculty with a strong sense of community. The four schools comprising the Graduate College – Bioethics, Management, Education and Engineering & Computer Science – are now all together "under one roof." Please be sure to visit us the next time you are in or near Schenectady.
Alumni frequently ask questions like "How can I stay connected to Union Graduate College?" or "What can I do to help the College?" Here are some suggestions:
Please visit our "Get Involved" page for some additional ways to help advance Union Graduate College.
Again, I encourage you to stop by The Graduate Center and say "hello." I would enjoy meeting you, and you might even run into one of your professors!
Warm Regards,
