Sustaining Excellence Through Transition

Why is the Union Graduate College Strategic Plan titled, "Sustaining Excellence Through Transition"?

In 2000, Union College made the decision to create a new, independent, professional graduate college - Union Graduate College. When the steps toward full independence of this new institution were developed, they were expected to span a ten year period (ending in July, 2010). At that time, the governing Boards of both schools would become completely independent.

Given this recent history, the title of Union Graduate College's three year strategic plan is "Sustaining Excellence through Transition." As an independent graduate college, Union Graduate College represents a unique model- it is a challenging model with a growth imperative. Expansion will give Union Graduate College the ability maintain the level of excellence each of our programs is known for and fulfill our Mission, while creating exciting new opportunities and resources for our students, faculty and alumni.
