President’s Message
Welcome to the Union Graduate College website.
As the first nationally recruited president of UGC, I am honored to lead the college at this exciting time. With a rich history of offering exceptional graduate-level education, our degree programs continue to be recognized as models of excellence – both here in the Capital Region and beyond. And our students tell us the one-on-one attention they receive truly makes the difference in their success.
We offer programs in Education, Engineering, Management (including Health Care Management), Bioethics, as well as interdisciplinary degrees related to these fields (including joint programs with Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Albany College of Law and Albany College of Pharmacy).

Our brand-new Graduate Center (opening fall of 2009) is a state-of-the-art campus designed to foster the collaboration we’re known for.
Union Graduate College offers a unique academic experience because we focus solely on students pursuing advanced, masters-level degrees -- degrees that will expand your knowledge base and propel your career. In today’s tough economy, students are looking for what we call “effective education.” By combining rigorous academics with real-world application, our students use the community as their laboratory and build professional networks that help them land jobs and further their careers.
We offer faculty with diverse backgrounds, who bring significant real-world experience into the classroom. Many come from the region’s top companies. They truly talk across disciplines and deliver interdisciplinary education with ease and authentic knowledge. Our programs capitalize on best– practices for the adult learner, who recognizes the value of a more hands-on approach to education.
At Union Graduate College we are especially proud of our alumni. As they rise in their professions, they remain active and committed to the college.
